Orange Sherbet Ice Cream Recipe with Flavor Concentrates
Ingredients:
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp orange sherbet ice cream flavor concentrate (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp orange zest (optional, for added flavor)
Orange food coloring (optional, for color)
Instructions:
In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream and milk. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it begins to steam, but do not let it boil.
In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar and salt.
Slowly add the sugar mixture to the heated milk and cream, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
Once the mixture has cooled, add the orange sherbet ice cream flavor concentrate and orange zest (if using). Stir well to combine. If desired, add a few drops of orange food coloring to achieve a more vibrant color.
Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
Once the mixture is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
When the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, transfer it to a lidded container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
Scoop and serve your homemade orange sherbet ice cream, and enjoy the refreshing taste!
Note: This recipe can be easily adapted to other flavors by substituting the orange sherbet ice cream flavor concentrate with other ice cream flavor concentrates.
