What Are Hot Cocoa Cookies?
Hot cocoa cookies are chocolaty cookies based on the taste of hot cocoa. Normally containing cocoa powder, chocolate chip and mini marshmallows they are chewy in the center and have that gooey chocolate taste. And they are as good as your favorite drink in the winter- except that they are better.
Feel like kicking up your taste? Throw in a pinch of peppermint (or cinnamon or even chili powder) to give it Mexican flair of hot chocolate.

Here is the easiest way for hot cocoa cookie Recipe:
INGREDIENTS
- 1 3/4 Cup Almond Flour
- 1/4 Protein Powder
- 1/3 Cup Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 Cup Granulated Sweetener
- 2 Tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 Tsp Baking soda
- 1 Dropper of OOOFlavors Hot Cocoa
- 2 Eggs
- 1/3 Cup Heavy Cream
- 1/4 Cup Sour Cream
- 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
DIRECTIONS
- Combine all dry ingredients together. Blend in wet ingredients until just combined.

- You could also use a cookie scoop or spoon to scoop your dough onto the tray. Bake 12-15 minutes until set around the edges.
- After baking & cooling I added some mini marshmallows & chocolate chips to the tops and drizzled with chocolate.
Peppermint Hot Cocoa Cookies Variation:
To get a festive twist of the Christmas season, go with peppermint hot cocoa cookies, an elite choice.
What to Add:
-
½ teaspoon peppermint extract
-
½ undecorated candy canes, crushed
-
Use half of the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips
This turn is refreshing, giving that minty flavor that so fits into your cookie tray in December-- or at any time of year when you need something fresh.
Crispy Cocoa Cookies: How to Make Them
Prefer a cookie with a crunch? Here’s how to adjust the classic recipe:
Tips for a Crispier Texture:
-
Add an extra ¼ cup of granulated sugar (less moisture = more crunch)
-
Bake 2–3 minutes longer
-
Flatten the dough balls slightly before baking
-
Skip the marshmallows or add at the very end of baking to avoid gooey centers
Result: A crispy cocoa cookie that still carries rich chocolate flavor—perfect for dunking in coffee or milk.

How to make hot cocoa cookies from scratch?
Combine eggs and butter with cocoa powder, flour and sugar. Add chocolate chips and mini marshmallows and fold. Cook for 10min at 350.

Are hot cocoa cookies the same as chocolate cookies?
Not exactly. Hot cocoa cookies consist of marshmallows and in many cases cocoa mix or cocoa powder to duplicate the taste of the beverage.
